The Kanata Lasers' offense had a big night, peppering the Kemptville 73's with 32 shots throughout the game. The Kanata Lasers took the lead before the halfway point in the second on a goal from Theodore Austin.
Graham Denomme chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist) and Alex Gagnon contributed with 3 assists.
During the first, Samson opened the scoring for the 73’s with a goal at 15:27 with helpers from teammates Patterson and Dennison.
In the second period, Poeze finally put Kanata on the board with a goal at 10:32 with helpers from Park and Nocita. Austin quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 11:13 with assists from Denomme and Gagnon. Denomme deposited a goal at 14:51 with an assist from fellow Lasers forward Gagnon.
During the third period, Denomme scored a goal at 13:09 with helpers from his linemates, St. Jean and Gagnon.
Kanata’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Tourigny’s big night as he stopped 28 of the 29 shots he faced. Tourigny’s counterpart, Bond, also had a big night, managing to stop 28 of 32, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Kanata Lasers’ record to (4-4-0-0).
