The Lasers defeat the 73's 5-3

The Kanata Lasers' offense had a big night, peppering the Kemptville 73's with 38 shots throughout the game. The Kanata Lasers took the lead late in the second on a goal from Luca Nocita.

Trevor Poeze did his part, adding 2 goals and William Brochu chipped in with 3 points (2 goals, 1 assist). Jacob Thousand delivered for his team with 2 assists.

During the first, Fry “a” opened the scoring for Kemptville with a goal at 0:39 with a helper from his linemate Thousand. Macdonald netted a goal at 4:00. Brochu finally put Kanata on the board with a goal at 13:10 with helpers from Quinn and Bunka. Poeze deposited a goal at 17:58 with assists from his linemates, Nocita and Quinn.

In the second, Titus answered for the 73’s with a goal at 9:13 with helpers from his linemates, Beaton and Thousand. Brochu answered for the Lasers with a goal at 18:00 with assists from Nocita and Austin. Nocita quickly followed with what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:35 with helpers from his teammates Markhauser and Brochu.

In the third period, Poeze netted a goal at 14:30 with assists from his linemates, Nocita and Stockdale.

Kanata’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Carriere’s big night as he stopped 110 of the 113 shots he faced. Carriere’s counterpart, Lukenda, also had a big night, managing to stop 0 of 0, but ultimately fell short.

This win brings the Kanata Lasers’ record to (31-21-8-1).
