During the first, Van Tiem opened the scoring for Kanata with a goal at 1:32 with helpers from teammates Poeze and Keon. Sleeth deposited what turned out to be the game winning goal at 18:35 with assists from his linemates, Ludwig and Smith.
In the second, Sleeth put in a goal at 12:48 with helpers from his linemates, Ludwig and Smith.
During the third, Egan finally put Pembroke on the board with a goal at 4:18 with assists from Mctavish and Egan.
The Lasers’ victory was in no doubt helped out by Carriere’s big night as he stopped 27 of the 28 shots he faced. Carriere’s counterpart, Smith, also had a big night, managing to stop 40 of 43, but ultimately fell short.
This win brings the Kanata Lasers’ record to (6-6-0-0).
